I'm a curator, critic and founder of the festival make city - 2015 and 2018 - a  festival for architecture and urban alternatives in Berlin, that brings together architects, planners, civic projects and city administrators. Originally coming to Berlin at the fall of the wall in 1989 as a journalist, I developed a transdisciplinary curatorial approach to architecture and urban design with urban drift projects. In 2002 I curated the festival urban drift in Berlin. In 2004 Icurated the German Pavilion at the Venice Architecture Biennial, with a 90m photographic panorama of new architecture - the Deutschlandscape, and in 2006 Talking Cities at the Zeche Zollverein in Essen. I was director of the Swiss Architecture Museum in Basel. Currently I am focussing on sustainable architecture practice, adaptive re-use, and wanting to build a peer to peer network that also includes different disciplines - systems thinkers, scientists, nature writers - in a mutual co-re-learning process within the EU.
